| As her love for scrapping grew, Sue became a Creative Memories Consultant. She loved how Creative Memories color coordinated all their materials and offered layout suggestions for all of their products. But with the demands of a full-time career and family, Sue decided to leave Creative Memories. She took with her the understanding that keeping pages simple would be the only way she would every complete her 35 years worth of family memories. On the other end of the spectrum, Kim was making 3-Dimensional pages and spending hours on lettering for her books. With a career in marketing and several hours a week number crunching, scrapbooking became a great stress relief. Kim enjoyed Friday night scrapping with the girls and all weekend scrap-a-thons. As the years passed, Kim enjoyed putting starter kits together for others, giving informal classes on how to scrap and loved searching out the newest scrapbooking products online. With the Scrapbooking industry growing by leaps and bound, each year thousands of new products were being introduced. New scrapbook superstores were opening. Sue and Kim both had heard from several people that they were overwhelmed with all the new products and techniques. Also these scrappers felt they never had all the materials they needed to complete their pages. Several of Kim’s friends were new moms and had limited time and money for scrapbooking. Sue and Kim both were members in two different monthly scrapbook clubs. They both liked the convenience of receiving the materials at home each month. Sue loved receiving the materials to complete layouts from her club. Each kit was limited by theme and the amount of supplies provided. Kim loved the uniqueness and quality of the products she received monthly. She was also limited by the monthly theme. They both decided that a monthly club needed to be created that would provide multiple themes each month, offer different programs based on budget needs, provide materials and layouts that would be flexible for any scrapper. During the summer of 2003, both Sue and Kim experienced some difficulty in the work place and decided that they needed to turn their love of scrapbooking into a business. Sitting at the dining room table, scrapbooking on a Saturday afternoon in late June, Rather B’ Scrappin, Inc. was born. They both decided that they needed to make their kit program a reality. No matter what Sue and Kim are doing, they would "Rather B’ Scrappin’!" |
